All of our pigs are hormone free.  All piglets are administered a tetanus shot, which is the only vaccine that they receive.  Pigs are naturally curious and “rooters”.  As a preventative measure the pigs are given tetanus because they are prone to the tetanus disease.  Our pigs are non-medicated. The only antibiotic that a pig will ever receive on thebigapringsfarm is when it is only medically necessary.

This differs radically from confined and traditionally raised pigs.  Most pigs are confined in large numbers and often get sick.  So, to remedy this problem, large confinement and even most small-scale pork producers that also confine their pigs, administer antibiotics on a routine basis and give multiple vaccinations as a standard practice.

Our pigs are not born into these conditions and do not live their lives mass confined and in small spaces.  Our pigs are ethically raised on our large rotation pastures.
